Registration for the '24 season is now open

Registration is officially open today and runs through March 1 for our baseball divisions, April 15 for T-ball and May 2 for softball.

Our early bird discount of $25 off per player runs through Feb. 8 for baseball, softball and T-ball. Meanwhile, we will continue to accept players in our baseball divisions after March 1 if we have room available, but a $25 late fee will apply.

We are again working with the T-Mobile Little League Call Up Grant program to provide scholarships for families in need. You can see more here. Funds are limited, so the earlier you apply, the better chance you have of receiving a scholarship.

A couple of notes about our divisions:

T-ball: We have a new minimum age due to Little League International rules that require those players to be 4 by October 2023 in order to play the following season.

Minors: The division is mainly for players who are Little League age 7 and 8. BPM will be for those who are league age 6 and those 7s who want another season in a non-competitive environment. Those who are Little League age 9 and want to play in Minors can register for Federals and then ask the board permission for their child to play down. 9s who play Minors aren’t eligible to try out for all stars, and we only recommend it for those who are developmentally behind their peers in terms of their baseball skills.

Federals: The division is geared for those ages 9-10. Those aged 11 who want to play Federals because they are behind their peers developmentally should register for Majors and then ask the board for permission to play down. They will not be eligible to try out for all-stars. 10s who want to try out for Majors should register for Federals and indicate their plans on the registration form.

Please remember we use the Little League age chart here to determine your child’s league age for the 2024 season. For example, children who turn 11 in July after the season is over are still considered 11s for the 2024 season.

You can find your child’s league age here:

Softball: We are transitioning to USA Softball rules. That will mean an 8U division for second- and third-graders, 10U for fourth- and fifth-graders, and 12U for sixth- and seventh-graders. Girls will be allowed to try out for a higher division.

Those who have questions about which level their child should play can contact Jay Gugel at [email protected].

We plan to have player evaluations for the first time with our softball season and will know more once registration closes. We will update registrants by mid-March with our plans for evaluations.

There are a couple of key dates to keep in mind for March:

March 1-3 will be Kennedy Days at Dick’s.

March 9: Player evaluations for Majors, Federals and Minors at Monona Grove High School.

March 11: Makeup player evaluations for Majors, Federals and Minors at Cottage Grove School.

Players in 14U, 13U, BPM and T-ball will be assigned to teams later in the spring without going through player evaluations.
